As of January 2024, ongoing scrutiny into the governance and operations of the Madobe administration has unveiled instances of the misappropriation or exploitation of official information for personal gain. Among the acquired information are details concerning financial impropriety, personal enrichment, and dubious transactions.

Prominent among these occurrences is the audit of funds allocated to Jubaland, which were either diverted for personal use or obtained through questionable means.

The egregious misuses encompass several notable entities, including:

1. The library under the stewardship of Prof Gaandi, reportedly employed for personal purposes.

2. The EDC headquarters in Kismayo.

3. The police traffic headquarters in Kismayo.

4. The seafood processing plant in Kismaayo.

5. The Kismayo airport land, is implicated in transactions benefiting the mayor and other individuals rather than serving the public interest. The expansion and acquisition of large land plots by UAE businesses have resulted in the displacement of local residents.

6. Small-scale trading ports near Goobwayn have exhibited activities favoring foreign merchants over the indigenous population. Moreover, substantial agricultural tracts granted to UAE businesses were previously owned by indigenous communities in Kismayo.

7. The historic rice farm outside Kismaayo was sold to UAE interests and repurposed for cultivating semiaquatic crops, particularly rice and taro.

8. The central bank branch building was sold to a Somali businessman.

9. Fertilization farming outside Kismayo has not escaped these irregularities. Fertilization, a pivotal aspect of agriculture enhancing crop productivity and environmental conditions, involves replenishing nutrients in the soil removed during harvest.
